Lammershoek Syrah 2007
The relatively extreme climate of the Paardeberg along with our sandy, weathered granitic soils lends almost perfect growing conditions for the true expression of the Syrah grape. Lovely pepper and spice and intense dark berry fruit on the nose are not overpowered by a hint of oak. Fresh fruit dominates the palate with a lingering peppery finish. Firm tannins attest to the seriousness of the wine and will ensure it goes the distance. A fine example of the unique Paardeberg terroir - the wine can be likened to old-world examples out of the South of France rather than those from Australia.
Alc: 14.67  RS: 1.6  pH: 3.65   TA: 5.6
Lammershoek Roulette 2006
2006 has the same lovely expressive nose as 2005. A critic recently described the wine as having "a great sniff-all-day-edness to it". Warm, fragrant spice hits first with bright red fruit and a touch of "fynbos" herbaceousness just after. The wine has a wonderful freshness on the palate followed by red mouth-filling fruit and a fine tannin structure. The finish is spicy and peppery. It is more elegant than the previous vintages with good minerality.
Alc: 14.5  RS: 1.5  pH: 3.53   TA: 5.4
Lammershoek Chenin Blanc 2008
The wine is fresh and mineral on the nose with just a hint of crisp apples. Understated oak adds to complexity and there is a suggestion of richness so typical of Chenin Blanc out of the Paardeberg. The palate is fresher than its predecessors and cuts through the richness to produce a wine quite elegant. Good acidity adds lovely length to the finish. It shows the potential to age well over the next couple of years with complexity sure to develop further in the bottle.
Alc: 14.28  RS: 5.0  pH: 3.16   TA: 6.0
Lammershoek Roulette Blanc 2008
The nose shows hints of green apples and zesty citrus. The palate weight is wonderful-rich Paardeberg Chenin balanced beautifully by a zingy acid. The finish lasts forever. There is a slight increase in the Chardonnay component in 2008 which adds a lovely creaminess to the palate.
Alc: 14.5  RS: 4  pH: 3.3   TA: 6
Lammershoek Straw Wine 2009
The wine is a rich yellow gold and looks like runny honey in the glass. The nose shows dried apricots and nuttiness, raisins and a sweet richness – it smells like the sun! On the palate there is beautiful texture and viscosity with a honey and dried fruit sweetness. Mouth coating deliciousness set off by a tart zingy finish!

Bottled in 375 ml bottles.

Alc: 10  RS: 280  pH: 3.52   TA: 8.7
